Bay Games Warhammer 40k Doubles Tournament

Date: Starting the first week of December Format: Doubles (Teams of 2 players) Rounds: 3-4 Rounds Army Size: 1,250 points per player (2,500 points per team)

Tournament Details

Team Rules:

• Teams must consist of the same two players for all rounds.

• Each player builds a Battle-Forged Detachment.

• Teams cannot share Command Points or abilities unless explicitly allowed by their faction rules.

• Teams are encouraged to create thematic pairings.

Game Format:

• Matched Play: Using rules from the Warhammer 40,000 Grand Tournament Mission Pack.

• Missions: Selected from the pack

Tournament Structure

• Schedule:

  • Round 1: Week 1 of December

  • Rounds 2-4: Over the following 1-2 weeks (schedule based on player feedback).

• Each round lasts approximately 3 hours.

• Swiss-style matchmaking to determine pairings based on performance.

Scoring

• Primary Objectives: Based on mission rules.

• Secondary Objectives: Each team selects relevant secondary objectives per mission.

• Bonus Points:

  • Best Painted Army (judged at the start of the event).

  • Sportsmanship (voted on by participants).

Venue and Amenities

• Location: Bay Games, 214 Whitley Rd, Whitley Bay.

• Setup:

  • Tables with diverse and thematic terrain.

  • Space for spectators and participants to enjoy the event.

Prizes, include Trophies, Vouchers and Minis.

• Best Team Overall: Based on match scores.

• Best Painted Army: Judged by a panel or community vote.

• Sportsmanship Award: For the team voted most fun to play against.

• Thematic Pairing Award: For the team with the most creative or lore-aligned combination.
