“We’re not a cult, promise. Now let us tell you all about the dragon god…”
Join our “Roots and Ladders” subgroup on WhatsApp or check in store for updates.
For those wanting to learn to play, ask us on WhatsApp or in store before the event. We have some friendly members who are happy to teach you and will spawn out of the ground at the very mention of "Root".
How it will work:
“From birdsong to evening, take these actions:”
The number of games will depend on take up. There will be a minimum of two rounds (knock-out heats and a final).
First round games will be limited to 2.5 hours.
Winners go through to the next round. If there aren’t enough players in the first round to have 4 games, the top 2 scorers from each game will go through.
(Dominance plays will be classed as the score the player had when they first attempted dominance for this purpose.)
The final will be untimed.
Games will be 4-5 players
Rules
“Law of Root: Weird Stuff”
Advanced Setup (your faction will be drafted from up to 5 available choices.)
“Summer map” (it’s the fall map with randomised clearings.)
Exiles and Partisans deck. There will be NO hirelings or landmarks.
Game rules as written in the latest Law of Root (https://root.seiyria.com/)
This means no despot infamy, extra corvid plots or lost city!
If a first-round game ends midway through a round, all turns must be completed.
(example: a four player game reaches round 6. 2 turns have been taken so far in this round but time is up. The remaining 2 players get to take their turns before the game ends.)
If anyone scores 30 in this period, they go through to the next round as normal.
The runner up may also go through depending on the amount of players.
